Epic Home Upgrades & Construction has been repairing and installing roofs for years now. We are thrilled to share that roofing materials have continued to improve over the time we have been in business. There are now so many different green roofing materials that will help homeowners like yourself lower energy bills.
As the top roofing company in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and the San Francisco Bay Area, we have done it all. Our roofing contractors have the skills to repair and replace roof shingles, fix leaks, and even do roof installation. They are quite knowledgeable in roof types, as well as roof designs and roof colors.
Older roofs were constructed with all the outdated roofing materials that were available ten or twenty years ago. The materials that were used are not considered energy efficient. Therefore, you can expect to pay higher energy bills. Once the roofing materials on your home start to deteriorate, you may notice that your energy bills get higher as time goes on.
Older roofs can come with a host of issues. Those issues include broken shingles, missing shingles, deteriorating shingles, and missing flashing. Each one of those problems can cause significant damage to your home if left untreated.
Thankfully, here at Epic Home Upgrades & Construction, we can come out to your home and do a thorough inspection of your roof. This inspection will tell us how much damage has occurred and what needs to be done to fix it.
Most of the time, we can do the necessary roof repairs on your home and you won’t need to install a new roof. However, there are times when it is better to do a roof installation. Those times include when the roof repairs will cost almost as much as a new roof and when your current roof is so damaged, there is no way to repair it properly.
The other number one reason to replace your roof is the energy cost savings you will see in the future. Homeowners that have seen their energy bills creep up month after month usually want to do something to remedy that problem. Most people begin with turning off the lights and being careful with the energy they are using.

We recommend choosing green energy products that have an excellent Energy Star rating. All shingles that have an Energy Star rating will reflect the sun instead of absorbing the heat from the sun and bringing that heat into your home.
We recommend choosing shingles with a high solar reflection in Southern California. This will ensure the temperature on your roof is much lower on the sunniest of days.
In SoCal, we also recommend choosing lighter colored shingles whenever possible. Yes, roof colors do matter when it comes to the amount of heat absorbed by your roof.
All the lighter colored shingles will deflect the sunlight, which will keep your home much cooler on the hottest days of the year.
You must pay attention to your roof type, roof design, and roof colors when doing a roof installation. Our skilled roofing contractors will help you determine which roof shingles, or roofing materials, are the best for your home.
Our goal is to help you choose energy efficient products that will not only give you the energy savings you desire, but also allow you to keep using those products long into the future.
